Condemning Socialism

                                     Condemning Socialism

On January 6, 2021 America sat back and watched as the capital building was breeched and our elected leaders threatened. Reactionary forces including Christian Fascists and Racist Neo-Nazis stormed the capital in an attempt to overthrow the democratic election of the people, in which Joe Biden rightfully won the presidency. This insurrection was lead by the sitting president and select members of the Senate and House who share fascist, authoritarian, theocratic, and anti-democratic tendencies. In the following year, a number of the low-level street thugs that took orders from the former president were saddled with the consequences of their actions; some only being fired from their jobs and others receiving criminal sentences with prison time.

On February 2 ,2023 all of the elected Republicans in Congress in addition to members of the Democratic Party voted to condemn socialism. They did not condemn fascism, racism, or bigotry. They did not condemn lies on media outlets. They did not condemn the aggressive nature of police. They voted to condemn a form of government that believes in a fuller, more robust, democratic process and a more egalitarian system overall.

In a time when the U.S. is supporting a fascist Ukraine, school boards are removing books, and the LGBTQ community is becoming increasingly more alienated. In a time when the Supreme Court is ripping away women's rights from us, our congress voted to condemn Socialism.

Elections remain viable and important, but a mass movement of workers, the hungry, and the houseless taking to the streets is necessary. In spite of the government voting to condemn socialism, the people of this country are still feeling the need for a better system.

Phone/Email Zap for Robert Peacher, 46 Days Without Food at Pendleton CF!

 IDOC Watch

Robert Peacher #881627 is a prolific jailhouse lawyer who is incarcerated at Pendleton CF. He has won at least 18 lawsuits against the Indiana DOC since being wrongfully convicted in the late ‘90s. In retaliation for his jailhouse lawyering in defense of prisoners’ human rights, Peacher was fed rat poison by guards at Wabash Valley CF. As a result of that experience, Peacher now suffers from PTSD and can’t eat unless his food is delivered by someone he trusts. He has told officials that he can’t trust food delivered by custody officers but will eat food delivered by non-custody staff. PCF officials are intentionally starving Peacher in retaliation for his legal activism by not allowing his food to be delivered by non-custody staff.

Right now, it has been 46 days since Peacher ate a real meal, because officials at Pendleton CF are refusing to allow his food to be delivered by non-custody staff.

Please call and email IDOC HQ and Pendleton CF Warden Dennis Reagle to demand that Robert Peacher’s (#881627) food be delivered by non-custody staff, so that he can eat without triggering his PTSD!

Support Aaron "Israel" Isby's Petition for Credit Time Restoration!

 https://www.idocwatch.org/blog-1/2022/8/1/support-aaron-israel-isbys-petition-for-credit-time-restoration

Aaron Isby is a long-term Indiana political prisoner who has had his
sentence illegally extended by the Indiana Department of Correction
through their intentional miscalculation of the credit time that should
have been restored to him. He is currently being denied restoration of 6
years of credit time that should be restored under Indiana statute. If
that credit time was applied to Mr. Isby-Israel’s sentence, as it should
be, he would have to be released from prison immediately because he
would have already completed his sentence. Mr. Isby-Israel submitted a
classification appeal over 6 months ago, and IDOC Watch followed up last
month, to no response. We are now asking people to call the IDOC
Commissioner’s Office and demand a response to Aaron Isby’s appeal for
restoration of good time.

Please call the IDOC Commissioner’s Office and email IDOC Commissioner
Robert Carter Jr., and demand that the DOC responds to Mr. Isby’s appeal
for Credit Time restoration immediately!

Commissioner’s Office: (317) 233-6984 ext.0, ext.2

IDOC Commissioner Robert Carter: rocarter1@idoc.in.gov

Script: “Hello, I’m [calling/emailing] to request that the Indiana
Department of Correction respond formally to the appeal for credit time
restoration that Mr. Aaron Isby #892219, who is in IDOC custody at Miami
CF, submitted over 6 months ago.”

Aaron Isby is serving an attempted murder sentence for defending himself
against an attack by a cell extraction squad armed with K-9’s and
firehoses in 1990 at Pendleton CF. That attack was ordered by a racist
guard who called Aaron the N-word and then lied on him, saying that
Aaron had attacked him. Aaron was thrown in the hole, and then attacked
by the cell extraction squad, which ended with some guards being injured
and Aaron being charged with two counts of attempted murder. For 28
consecutive years after that incident, Aaron was held in solitary
confinement, until he won a precedent-setting lawsuit in 2018
challenging the IDOC’s practice of indefinite solitary confinement.
